I have been painting in watercolor professionally approximately twenty years, and for 10 of those years, I've enjoyed teaching others how to paint. I consider it a privilege to share my knowledge with others, so that they may experience the joy of creating beautiful art.
My students have ranged in age from seven to 93. Most students had not touched a paintbrush since their school years. Some have gone on to show and sell their art, and still others have branched out to teach classes to beginning students. And so, the baton is passed along.
My personal philosophy is that painting can be a form of therapy and a conduit for healing. It can be a way to worship God. I have seen all these things in my students and have experienced them myself. There's something wonderful that happens when you slow down, quiet yourself, and create.
My professional art successes include private and corporate sales, acceptance into national juried art shows, and being published in international publications.
